We first came to Cabarete through a real estate investment project. We were looking for a place that felt different from traditional Caribbean destinations — a region with authentic villas, wild beaches, a strong international community and an active lifestyle built around the ocean and racket sports.

Close to Puerto Plata airport yet far from large concrete resorts, Cabarete immediately felt like the perfect balance between movement, nature and comfort.

At first, it was simply about creating a place where we could spend time with friends and family. Mornings were for surfing, tennis, pickleball or yoga. Afternoons slowed down naturally around the pool or the beach. Evenings ended together at the villa with a chef, good food and conversations that lasted late into the night.

Then we started inviting more people. Tennis friends. Pickleball groups. Multi generational families. Small retreats. And every time, people came back home saying the same thing: this is exactly how travel should feel.

That became Vyllara.
